Eight sailings on the Disney Fantasy in 2016 have been announced and will feature a one-day Star Wars celebration. The sail dates are set for January 9, 23, February 6, 20, March 5, 19, April 2 and 16, 2016. Some of the activities announced for the event so far include character meet and greets with Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, Stormtroopers and other characters who can be found roaming the deck (How cool is that?!). Guests are being encouraged to wear their own costumes as well. The same very popular Jedi Training Academy from the Hollywood Studios will also happen while on the cruise where your children can learn lightsaber moves and fight a battle with Darth Vader. Star Wars trivia games, themed arts and crafts, games and activities in the youth clubs are said to be scheduled. The night club will transform into the Mos Eisley cantina scene with special cocktails, characters and cantina music which would delight even the eldest Star Wars fan! Star Wars films will be shown and there will be Star Wars celebrities and insiders sharing behind-the-scenes stories and signing autographs. A deck party, complete with characters, a show, music, dancing and fireworks will end the day-long celebration.
In the coming weeks, eligible Walt Disney World® Resort hotel Guests will have the option to go direct to their hotel room once it’s ready, without stopping at the Front Desk.

This new optional service will be rolled out in phases over the course of the next several weeks. I have always loved the personal check in service. It is what makes me feel like my vacation has started. Also, I have always been a big fan of hotel/resort lobbies and checking each one of them out so this specifically would NOT be something I would welcome. How do you feel about this? Be Our Guest at the Beasts Castle has been a hit from the day it opened its Castle doors. We recently stopped in for a dinner reservation to see if we felt the same way. We were lucky enough to reserve an ideal dinning time of 5:00pm after about a month of trying. The location of the castle gave us a great view of the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and we were able to see the riders as they came down the hill out of the tunnel as we waited to be called in. The front of the castle was neatly decorated with some ugly looking trollish statues and the entrance once inside is grand. We enjoyed walking through the different locations upon entering the West Wing where we were seated. This is where you can witness the rose petals falling off the infamous rose. Make sure you look at the picture of the Beast that hangs on the wall so you can see it change quickly with the thunder, then count to ten and it will change again.
The service was outstanding. Our waiter was on point and was over the top friendly. I asked for Gingerale for my beverage and although they did not have it, he offered to make a homemade version of it for me (something I never heard of) Sprite with a splash of diet Coke (you learn something new everyday) and it was just like the real thing! My nine year old son had the child's Filet Mignon which was pretty fatty however for the price of a child's meal you can not beat getting a Filet Mignon. I had a grilled Chicken with vegetables which was moist and our other guest had a Strip Steak which also was fatty. Although I loved the theming of the Castle and really enjoyed the environment we were in, I would give the entrees a B-. As far as the desserts, well, that was a whole different story. After staring at the delicious looking sweets, we choose the Grey Stuff with the Brownie as well as the Strawberry Shortcake and both were over the moon awesome!! We were celebrating my sons birthday while we were there and our waiter brought him a card signed by the Beast and Belle along with a plate with a trial of the Grey Stuff. When we were all finished we were invited to walk around the restaurant to look around and before exiting we took our pictures with the Beast. I loved being able to visit once. I am looking forward to visiting for a lunch reservationswhen they start as well as breakfast (fingers crossed) but I do not see myself stopping by for another dinner reservation the next time we are there. Have you been before? Did you enjoy your meal as much as you did the theme of the restaurant? Are you looking forward to returning? Let us know what your thoughts are. Your opinions and advice may help others! |
