Many DCL fans have had the chance to enjoy the AquaDuck water coasters on the older Disney Dream and Fantasy ships, but the new water ride called the AquaMouse on the Disney Wish will actually be a combination of fast sections and a lazy river making it completely unique to any of the other DCL ships. In true Disney fashion the AquaMouse has a backstory. Mickey and Minnie Mouse are running an excursion company named “Port Misadventures”. Guests will join Mickey and Minnie Mouse on an undersea excursion to Mermaid Lagoon that inevitably goes awry. All the while you will be watching a new animated short called “Scuba Scramble” that will play throughout your ride on oversized virtual portholes. This brand new water ride promises to be slow and immersive in the beginning, but will end with passing over the top decks, through the funnel and out over the edge of the ship.
Laura Cabo with Disney Imagineering says “The 760 feet of water-filled tubes that is going to take you all around the upper decks, it’s higher than ever before, it’s longer than ever before, it has so many different varieties of moments where you’re pushed up and down and into a lazy river as well. It’s really going to be absolutely fantastic.” In addition to the AquaMouse families will find many new amazing additions to the Disney Wish such as more pools (including a new Toy Story-themed waterplay district designed especially for families with toddlers and young children), more deck space, and more dining than ever before. The Disney Wish will sail its maiden voyage on June 9, 2022, followed by a season of three- and four- night cruises to Nassau, Bahamas, and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, from Port Canaveral, Fla. Bookings open to the general public on May 27, 2021. For more information reach out to your Starstuff Travel Planner today!
